Is it like aldi s vs giant eagle? or is there a difference besides the name? Most of the parts appear to be made of the exact same quality steel- so i dont know why you cant just go with the two or three hundred dollar less parts. Thanks- sorry if i sound dumb! lol
I have a 1993 Sentra. I bought some 15" rims and put 195/55 R15 tires on them. I then put spacers on the front and back to widen the stance a little. The car handles much better- but when I hit a hard bump or I have passengers in the car- the rear tires will rub the outer fenders. I need to stiffen up the rear suspension a little- but I m not sure what to do? I ve heard of adjustable struts- and also using air shocks. i m not sure if either will work- or if they both work- which will work better? Or is there something entirely different I need to do? If any of you have experience with this- I d appreciate some help here.
By the way- I am only interested in stiffening up the rear- the front is fine.

Actually- The Sentras came out with 13 and 14 inch rims- depending on the model/package. I have stepped up one size to a 15- and adjusted the tire size to compensate. Currently- the tire size is very close to the original tire Diameter. If I go to a 195/50 R15 the diameter will be nearly identical.....
If it wears out parts- I will gladly replace them anyway. But as it stands- this car isn t a daily driver so if it wears out parts- it will take quite a while. So my only real concern at this point is how to stiffen up the rear end enough to keep the tires from rubbing.

Ok- let me explain a little better.... I am not a kid... My wife and I have had this car since back in the late 90 s. In the last 2 years it has gotten MAYBE 7-000 miles on it (if even). It is NOT a daily driver. We mainly keep it around because it is very reliable- and is a good back up should our main cars break down. I know what mod s can do to a car. And IF I drove it every day- I would be concerned. But since it doesn t get driven much- I m not. At the rate we drive it- it will take quite some time for it to wear out other suspension parts- and if/when it does- I ll have them replaced. No biggie. Being 15 years old- the paint is shot- and the interior is a little worn. The original tires/rims looked like crap. If we re gonna drive it from time to time- we decided to fix it up and make it look nice. New paint job- new interior- timted glass- new rims/tires- etc. I know it will make the ride a little rougher... again no biggie since we don t drive it much.
My car and steering wheel has been vibrating very bad while braking. So I took it in and had the rotors turned and put new brake pads on and got new tires and an alignment. The vibrating has gone down but its still there some and it drives me nuts. I think my front left strut might be bad and what keeps causing the vibrating. I think its bad because when ever i driver over a bump or manhole or anything elevated I hear like a knocking on wood sound from the left front of my car. Could it be a bad strut? Its a 2003 Mishubishi Galant.
I ve been told I need new struts and that my flex is leaking. Could either of these be why my light is on? Also- how soon do I need to get these things fixed?
And yes- I know I need to visit Autozone right away.
