I have a Toyota Corolla i think its a 92- I m trying to save money by not going to the shop- i was just wondering if anyone knew how hard it would be or if there is a how to site anyone knows of.
I m trying to find out where I can get detailed GM vehicle dimensions for an outrageous motor swap for my Chevy Beretta. I m looking for things such as strut tower measurements- vehicle widths- lengths- engine cradle dimensions- what will interchange and what won t. I ve searched the internet for quite some time now trying to find what I need but everything I type in to look for either comes up as vehicles for sale or basic dimensions that I already know. Is there anywhere that I would be able to find the information out that I need? If there is I would love to hear it- it would save me alot of time and headaches tryin to get this info. Or would I have to go to a GM dealer in order to get the information that I require. No sarcastic or inappropriate answers- I don t have the patience or time to deal with your nonsense and you will be reported. For those of you that can help me- please do so. I would very greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
Yeah repair manuals are nice for that info but I need to cross reference about 4-5 different cars so a site thats got them or maybe just info sheets on the cars would be perfect. Something to where I don t have to spend countless hours flipping between books to find what I need. Thank you for answering.
I am considering the Dinan engine upgrade along with the cold air intake and exhaust. The spec boast an 11 HP increase as well as some torque increase. Does anyone have any experience with this and how did the car respond. I wouls also consider the stage 2 which includes the strut brace and the tranny reprogram.
The E>A>T is Not available for the e46. The Dinan chip is available for $249 plus 10% off making it cheaper anyway. The waranty is also better. My real concern is regarding the actual performance of the chip!
Dinan actually removes the top speed governor and raises the rev limit around 350 RPMs
Hi- I m hoping someone can help me out with the following terminology as I m researching how to change my front and rear radius rod bushes and have noticed that certain parts have more than one name...
Are the following types of bushes all the same thing?
- radius rod bushes
- castor bushes
- z-bar bushes
If they are the same thing- does that mean the radius rod- castor (or castor bar?)- and z-bar are all the same thing?
Are any of the following parts the same- or all completely different? Any labelled diagrams of the underside of a car would be very helpful.
- radius rods
- control arm
- strut
- k-frame
I ve also read about a lower control arm - is there an upper control arm?
Lastly- if I was to change the front radius rod bushes- would doing the rear radius rod bushes be pretty much the same? Is either end more difficult?
A lot of questions at once- I know. Some help with any of them would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
Firstly- thank you for all your tips so far- you have been very helpful! Secondly- I bought the Ellery s Commodore repair manual a couple of weeks ago (I was unable to find a Gregory of Haynes manual).
Here s why I keep asking questions:
My mechanic told me I need new tappet cover gaskets so I referred to my manual which makes absolutely no mention of tappet covers. Then I found out they re also called rocker covers. I was then able to quickly check in my manual how to change rocker cover gaskets.
My mechanic also said I need new Z-bar bushes. This manual makes no reference to Z-bars- instead it refers to them only as radius rods.
As you can see- to someone with very little mechanical background- picking up this book without any other source of help can be totally useless at times. This is why I m after help with terminology- as well as where the parts are located. The diagrams in this book only show you a close up of part X- without showing where Part X actually is...
